Tracey was the first girl that broke my heart
back when we were just in the sixth grade
I was playing it cool in a parochial school
with a smile that helped me get the grades

Tracey was the second girl that broke my heart
back when parents' cars and curfews reigned
high school came and went it was such an event
and she left me dateless, lonely at the dance

I may not have always been true
but I never lied to you
just like that boy I'm still always confused
and I still really care for you

Tracey was third girl that broke my heart
back when milk and bread and drugs were our niche
I tried to play it tough when I'd had just enough
and she sent me packing with a joke and a smoke

Tracey moved away and gave her heart to man
that man he tells her just how to feel
I'm still hanging around back in our hometown
it's like they say, one two three four times a charm

I may not have always been true
but I never lied to you
just like that boy I'm still always confused
and I still really care for you
